Field Trip to the Rockford Art Museum & Art Deli
The Rockford Art Museum offered a Regional Portfolio Review day yesterday. They hosted 18 schools offering varying visual art-related majors and programs. This is an opportunity for students to get additional feedback on their current portfolios (from the people at the schools they may choose to apply to), as well as time to talk to representatives about general program questions, financial aid and available summer programs. After eating lunch, we traveled to the Art Deli downtown, where we watched a demonstration of the process of screen printing. After the demonstration, students had the opportunity to pull their own print on a t-shirt. This was provided as a free experience for our students by the owners of the Art Deli. We got to take part in this experience because Lynn Stockton and Lisa Doll invited us to accompany them, as they have been running this trip for several years.
