Hello! Welcome to our classroom webpage. My name is Mrs. Martin. This is my second year teaching for Rockford Public Schools as well as my second year teaching fifth-grade at Kishwaukee. I have been at Kishwaukee for the last four years in a variety of roles including a clinical student, student teacher, paraprofessional, and long-term substitute. I am thrilled to have been asked back to Kishwaukee as a full-time teacher.
Just a little bit about me, I have an amazing supportive husband who encourages me to be a better person. Although we do not have any children, we do have an Australian Cattle Dog. His name is Yonu Duhi, which means peaceful bear in Cherokee. I myself am half Native American from both Cherokee and Chippewa tribes. I am currently working on my master's degree in Bilingual and English as a Second Language.
I am typically at school from 7:15-3:30. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to contact me. The school phone number is 815-966-3380. You can also write me a note in your child's agenda or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. No matter the method you chose to contact me, I will answer promptly.
I look forward to this marvelous journey with you and your child. Thank you for checking out our website!
