Hello! Welcome to 7th & 8th Grade Montessori Math and Science!
My name is Sara Hanson. I am honored to be your child's math and science teacher and I believe we are a triad (you, me, and your child) that will need to work together to ensure his or her success.
I am a graduate of Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. I have been teaching since the fall of 1999, with most of that time spent in middle school math and science. I have been with RPS 205 since January of 2016. I was trained as a Secondary Montessori Teacher through Cincinnati Montessori Secondary Teachers Education Program.
I am from Texas (go COWBOYS!!!) and lived there most of my life. I moved to Rockford in June of 2015 and married my husband, Christian, on July 4th. Between the two of us, we have four children, Caleb (16), Caleb (14), Cayli (11) and Owen (11). Yes. You read that correctly. We have TWO Calebs and TWO eleven-year-olds.
As a classroom teacher, with sixteen years’ experience in the classroom and two years’ experience in curriculum and intervention, I am able to provide students with a variety of learning styles and strategies to help them become successful members of society. With a passion for math and science, I aim to ignite curiosity and promote self-guided learning with my students. I am able to provide differentiated instruction based on the most current data for my students. It is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, intelligent teacher who will make a positive contribution to your child's educational experience.
Please feel free to contact me any time via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or through Remind.
In addition, I have provided my students with my personal cell phone number so that they may contact me at anytime with questions about assignments or anything else, even if they just need to talk.
