Update: The phone lines and computer network are back in operation at Nashold, Riverdahl and Froberg elementary schools and Jefferson High School.
There will be sporadic telephone and computer network outages beginning at 4 p.m. today at 22 Rockford Public Schools. Service to those schools will be restored by tomorrow morning.
The outages are necessary to repair a damaged cable serving Nashold, Riverdahl and Froberg Elementary Schools and Jefferson High School. The phones and computer network will remain down at those schools, and a temporary phone line has been set up. You may call the school's regular number. Calls are being rerouted to a temporary phone line. You may need to leave a voice mail.
The affected schools for the sporadic outages are: Auburn and Roosevelt Alternative High Schools; Kennedy, West and RESA Middle Schools; Beyer, Conklin, Ellis, King, Lathrop, Lewis Lemon, McIntosh, Walker, Welsh and West View Elementary Schools; Haskell Year-Round Academy; Barbour Two-Way Language Immersion; Washington Academy; Maria Montessori; Thurgood Marshall School; and Dennis and Summerdale Early Childhood Centers. Temporary service is not available to these schools.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
