A letter will be sent home this week with students and staff at Carlson elementary school after two cases of Shigellosis were confirmed at the school. Shigellosis is an infectious disease caused by a group of bacteria called Shigella. The Winnebago County Health Department announced a health alert earlier this school year about the disease.
