The Rockford School Board Tuesday night approved an addition and renovation work at Lewis Lemon Elementary school, set to begin in June. The project includes the more than 3,600 square-foot cafeteria addition, kitchen renovations, plus parking lot, site and electrical work.
Six companies attended a pre-bid meeting, and four companies submitted bids:
- Rockford Structures Construction Company $1,310,200
- Stenstrom General Contactors $1,338,000
- Scandroli Construction $1,404,269
- Sjostrom & Sons Inc. $1,508,000
The work was awarded under budget to Rockford Structures Construction Company, the lowest responsible bidder. The cost has been captured in the capital facilities master plan budget.
The addition and renovations are expected to be completed by January 2018.
