Middle School CAPA students recently took a field trip to Chicago for a day
full of arts. CAPA
advanced dance students took a class with Sharrod Williams from the cast of “Hamilton” and learned a dance
routine from the show. CAPA artists spent the day at the Art Institute of Chicago observing the
artwork and touring the sculptures in Millennium
Park. Students saw a performance of the national tour of “Hello, Dolly!” and met the
cast afterwards to ask questions about careers in the arts. The students left
the experience with a stronger understanding of the highest level of their art
form and a desire to grow as artists.
