Parents and guardians in Rockford Public Schools are invited to Lincoln Middle School's Parent University on Saturday, Jan. 25. Lincoln Middle School will host this amazing community event dedicated to Lincoln parents and guardians and the rest of RPS 205. Parent University will include information about free tax prep, life resources, health resources, government resources and tours of Lincoln. Lunch and activities for kids will be provided for free. We will have giveaways throughout the day.
Lincoln Middle School staff, with a goal to improve students' lives, wanted to reach out to our parents and offer a central location to find valuable community and educational resources. We have invited great community leaders to participate, such as the United Way of Rock River Valley, Boys and Girls Club, Furst Staffing, SwedishAmerican Hospital, KP Counseling, YMCA of Rock River Valley, City of Rockford, Rockford Fire Department, U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos' office, Edward Jones Financial, Beefaroo, Illinois Rep. Maurice West and many more.
The schedule: Parents/guardians can choose from 16 topics and attend three 45-minute breakout sessions – each starting at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon. Attendees can learn how to access their child's grades, more about teen mental health and interview skills. We'll share more details with families in the coming days.
Parent University is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at Brian.Weavel@rps205.com or at 815-229-2400. I'm looking forward to seeing our wonderful parents at Parent University.
The state released formal guidelines on Tuesday about what in-person learning will look like this fall.
This message might not surprise you, but we wanted to share our disappointment with our students and graduates.
RPS 205 teachers and students will comply with all Illinois Secretary of State and Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines.
Please enroll for the 2020-21 school year before July 10.
Parents/guardians and students are required to bring a student ID to receive a device.
