As a physical education teacher, I always look
forward to finding ways to collaborate with my co-workers. When I was asked to
be a guest speaker for our second grade class, I was more than willing to help
out. The students needed to set a personal goal to help them become healthy. In
my experience, kids are highly engaged when the learning is interactive. With
that in mind, I created a game about healthy habits based on Family Feud. I
loved seeing the excited expressions on the students’ faces when they named a
correct answer on the healthy habits survey. Based on the exit slips, the
children were able to fulfill their learning target goals.
