The STEAM Academy at Haskell is a K-5 special program that integrates science and technology, interpreted through engineering and the arts, all based in mathematical elements. The program creates a student-driven learning environment which fosters inquiry, problem-solving, innovation and a growth mindset. During the 2017-2018 school year, students focused on a new, integrated science curriculum to keep them active and engaged. For the 2018-2019 school year, watch our Maker Space grow! Coding and Engineering are added focuses this fall. The STEAM Academy is the only elementary school in the district to offer Project Lead the Way 'Launch', an Engineering and Coding curriculum. Year three of the program in 2019-2020 further implements these exciting initiatives. Students in the STEAM Academy are also offered Band as an elecitve in grades 4 and 5.
We welcome students from all over the district who are interested in a STEAM education. Students from any zone may fill out an interest form at the Welcome Center. Limited seats are still available, with wait lists at some grade levels.
Transportation and breakfast/lunch are offered to all students who attend STEAM CAMP.

Sibling preference does not apply to applicants for the upcoming year whose only sibling is currently enrolled in 5th grade.
A lottery waitlist is created and each student is assigned a number. The lottery waitlist is posted on the Welcome Center page of the district website.
Families interested in the STEAM Academy at Haskell after open application dates are closed may fill out an interest form at the Welcome Center. Interest forms are time stamped, and an interest list is maintained in this order.
When all lottery waitlist students have been placed the interest list is used to place students.
