Twenty RPS students signed up to participate in the First-Generation Celebration on Wednesday, May 14, at the Rockford Public Library. The event was to honor district students who will be the first in their families to attend college. Sponsored and coordinated by Illinois Student Assistance Commission, it was the second year for the event. High school counselors helped by recruiting students.
