Rockford Public Schools will host an evening run June 7 in downtown Rockford to
benefit RPS physical education programs, teacher training and equipment.
“We want to provide an additional opportunity that both engages our community in a healthy
activity and provides our teachers the equipment and training they need to improve our students’

The race is 2.05 miles long – participants don’t have to be fast to win. Awards will be given in age-
group divisions, plus categories like Most Originally Dressed, Most School Spirit and Worst
The event is at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 7. The course starts at the Rockford City Market site and
brings runners and walkers to downtown Rockford. Participants must be at least 21 years of age.
The registration fee is $40 for the first 200 participants and $50 for additional participants. The fee
includes an event T-shirt and a ticket for food and drink at Rockford Brewing Co. inside the Prairie
