Zone School WaitlistPer school board policy 7.30, students are to attend the zone school that corresponds to the address of the parent(s)/legal guardian(s). If a seat is not available at the time of enrollment, students are placed on a waitlist and sent to the nearest school with seat availability. A student's placement on the waitlist will be according to the following criteria:
Those with siblings currently attending the zone school will be listed first. Those with siblings will be listed in chronological enrollment/change of address order from one another but before those who do not have siblings attending the zone school.
Those without siblings currently attending the zone school will be listed after those with siblings already attending that school. Those without siblings at that school will be listed in chronological enrollment/change of address order from one another but after all who have siblings currently attending the zone school.
Rockford students may qualify for the Gifted Academy in kindergarten, and eligibility tests are administered every year for new applicants in subsequent grade levels.
